Broadview and St. Peter’s Health Partners Center for Philanthropy Unveil “Peaceful Places” for Health Care Workers
July 02, 2024
Broadview Federal Credit Union is collaborating with St. Peter’s Health Partners to construct five 'Peaceful Places’ – spaces at St. Peter’s and Samaritan Hospitals where clinical employees, including doctors and nurses, can find respite and recharge during their shifts. In honor of our healthcare heroes’ daily dedication and relentless hard work, Broadview is honored to provide them with comfortable locations to take a much-deserved breather.
St. Peter’s Health Partners held a ribbon cutting ceremony last week to unveil the first ‘Peaceful Place.’ Broadview’s CEO Michael Castellana and Chief Community Officer Kathy Lanni joined leaders and clinicians from St. Peters for the ceremony.
"We have the highest respect for the healthcare workers in our community, especially after the challenges they continue to face," said Castellana. "We at Broadview Federal Credit Union are honored to support a project that will serve as a reminder of how appreciated each of these workers are and encourage them to keep their well-being at the forefront of their own care.”
The Peaceful Places were designed to offer clinical employees a calm, comfortable location to seek respite and focus on their social, emotional, and spiritual health.
Broadview is a proud supporter of healthcare workers across the Capital Region and throughout New York. In recent years, Broadview acquired and donated thousands of N95 masks to local hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The credit union also spearheaded an effort to transform the Hilton Garden Inn into “Heroes Landing” – a respite for healthcare workers looking to rest between shifts at the height of the pandemic.
"We remain grateful for the excellent partnership we share with Broadview and their continued, generous leadership in the community," said Dr. Steven Hanks, president and CEO of St. Peter's Health Partners and St. Joseph's Health. "During the pandemic, Michael Castellana and his team were tireless partners, working with us to ensure the safety and well-being of our frontline health care workers. Almost five years later, they are again, standing with us, on the forefront of this groundbreaking project. They have our deepest thanks and gratitude."
